Just About A Year: All About Seasons is a Moonbeam Award-Winner, for Best Illustrated Children's Picture Book in the Alphabet and Nature categories, which I wrote and my mother, Lois Ehrin, illustrated. It is a lavishly illustrated, keepsake picture book that will enchant children, grandparents, parents, relatives and friends of all ages, while it teaches children ages 4-9, the alphabet, and months and seasons through illustrated depictions of Nature.
Currently, there are only 100 signed hard cover copies available that are signed by by both Illustrator Lois and Author Leslie Ehrin remaining from the First Edition that our company, Mellowood Pubishing, LLC published from an original print run of 5000 copies. Before Mom Lois' passing, she and I signed the books we had left, from our original print run. These I now call the 'Rare Collector's Edition":because they are the only remaining copies signed by both of us, and there never will be any others even if other editions are published, since Lois passed away in 2014.
My Mother, Lois, was an Art Educator, and Watercolorist who wanted to share her appreciation of Nature with children after she retired from teaching. Mom's best friend was a children;'s Librarian, who suggested that we do a book about the Seasons that taught the Alphabet. When we started putting the book together, I wrote the text to accompany her illustrations in acrostic aliteration at the suggestion of my then nine year old cousin, Abby, who believed that format would help children remember information about the months and seasons.

There are interactive questions at the bottom of each text page, to keep children involved with looking at the rich images on the right. Each illustration is framed by a lavish border design which relates to the colorful, creative portrayal of each month's image. Smiling suns and moons peek from the corners of some borders, while others contain grinning flower fairies, dancing bunnies playing violins, winged pigs skipping to school with playful puppies and children, or foxes playing in the snow, to name a few.

The "Rare Collector's Edition" copies are being offered here only - they are no longer for sale in any book stores, nor museum shops; not on Amazon or anywhere else where we previously offered them for sale. About Leslie and Lois06
Mom was 83 years old when we formed Mellowood Publishing, LLC, to publish and market our book. Our company name derives from the name of the property where I grew up in Rydal, PA, that my parents lovingly owned for forty years, and which they affectionately named "Mellowood". It represents the combination of my parents' names- Dad Mel and Mom Lois and the woods that characterized the land. After we finished the book, she was diagnosed with Leukemia and Lymphoma. Having been in corporate publishing early in my career, I knew how long it could take for a traditional publisher to bring a book to market. Not wanting to delay the book's production, due to her illness, we created our own company, published and marketed the book ourselves. We promoted it at elementary school book fairs, libraries, cultural institutions, and museums through interactive live events with families. At The Children's Museum of Manhattan, at Philadelphia Museum of Art, Morris Arboretum of The University of Pennsylvania, and at other museum book stores, independent book shops, an event venues, we made many friends as we shared presentations of our book with youngsters and their families.
